Chargeback
A chargeback is when a customer disputes a card payment with their own bank instead of asking you for a refund. The bank pulls the money back out of your account while it investigates, and you get a limited window to respond with proof that the customer agreed to the charge and got what they paid for. Your payment processor typically adds a dispute fee whether you win or lose.
