Data Silo
A collection of data that is isolated enough from other relevant information to hinder an intended use, whether through technical, organizational or ownership barriers. Not every boundary is a defect: deliberate access restrictions can be necessary. Reducing a silo means enabling appropriate, reliable coordination rather than copying every record into one unrestricted place.
