Emergent Abilities
Emergent abilities is the claim that models suddenly gain brand new skills once they get big enough, as if by magic. Researchers have shown much of that effect comes from how the tests were scored, since pass-or-fail measures make gradual improvement look like a sudden leap. Models do get better with scale; the drama lives mostly in the measurement.
