Firewall
A control that permits or blocks network traffic according to rules. Network firewalls and web application firewalls inspect different kinds of information; a WAF focuses on web requests. Passing a firewall does not prove that a user is entitled to a particular customer record, and a firewall does not replace application-level authorization.
