Graph Cycle

A route through graph edges that returns to its starting node; in a directed graph, every edge must be followed in its specified direction. A simple cycle does not repeat intermediate nodes. Workflow cycles can represent deliberate revision or polling, but their presence alone says nothing about whether a particular run terminates.

Also called: Directed cycle
