HIPAA
HIPAA, short for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, is the US health privacy law covering doctors, dentists, therapists, clinics, and the vendors who handle patient information on their behalf. It sets rules for how health information is stored, shared, and protected. Most general consumer AI chat tools are simply not set up to meet it.
