Hypothetical Document Embeddings
Hypothetical Document Embeddings, abbreviated HyDE, uses a generated hypothetical document as input to an encoder, then searches a real document collection with the resulting representation. The invented document helps form a retrieval signal. It is not a retrieved source, and its factual details can be false.
