MCP Tasks
An experimental MCP mechanism, introduced in specification version 2025-11-25, for representing request execution through a task identifier and lifecycle, with polling and deferred result retrieval. It is a protocol feature rather than a generic background job. Support, retention and authorization must be established for the participating implementations.
