Combining compatible operations into a larger operation or implementation unit, potentially avoiding intermediate materialization and launch overhead. A valid transformation must preserve the required computation within its numerical contract. Fusion is not arbitrary deletion of graph nodes, and which patterns are supported depends on the runtime and execution backend.
