Schema
A schema is the blueprint of a database: which lists of things it keeps, what columns each list has, what kind of information belongs in each column, and how the lists connect to one another. Changing the schema is a much bigger job than changing the information sitting inside it. When people call a system rigid, they usually mean its schema was designed around a different kind of business than theirs.
