Standard Input/Output Transport

A process communication arrangement that sends protocol messages through standard input and standard output. MCP uses it for client-launched server subprocesses. It is distinct from an HTTP endpoint; transport selection tells you how messages move, not whether the launched program is safe or restricted to local data.

Also called: stdio transport
