Backup
A backup is a second copy of your data kept somewhere separate, so that if the original is deleted, damaged, or locked by an attacker, you can put things back the way they were. Good backups run on a schedule without anyone remembering to start them, and they keep several versions from different days. A copy sitting on the same machine as the original is not really a backup.
