Burn Rate

In reliability monitoring, the observed bad-event rate divided by the bad-event rate allowed by the objective. A value above one indicates faster-than-budgeted consumption under comparable measurement assumptions. It is not automatically a duration forecast; projected exhaustion depends on traffic, the remaining budget and the evaluation window.
