Monitoring
Monitoring collects and examines signals about a system over time, such as request errors, latency or resource use. Internal instrumentation and outside-in checks answer different questions. Monitoring does not necessarily notify anyone; alerting applies separate rules. A healthy sampled signal does not prove that every customer journey or unobserved dependency is healthy.
