Chain of Thought
Intermediate reasoning text associated with solving a task; chain-of-thought prompting uses or elicits such steps before an answer. Visible steps can be useful to inspect, but they may be incomplete, mistaken or unfaithful to the model's internal computation. Prefer checkable calculations and evidence over claims of transparent internal reasoning.
