Dry Run

A dry run evaluates a proposed operation without committing the effects excluded by its documented mode. The boundary varies by tool; it may simulate locally or invoke server validation. Kubernetes documents specific server-side dry-run guarantees, but merely naming a custom workflow dry-run does not prevent its earlier steps from contacting real services.
