Control & Feedback

Oscillation

Repeated variation around or between values over time. In a control system, oscillation may shrink, persist or grow depending on its dynamics. Observing several alternating values does not by itself establish a stable limit cycle or identify the cause; measurement noise and changing inputs can produce similar traces.
