ETL (Extract Transform Load)

A pipeline pattern that extracts source data, transforms it into an intended representation, then loads the result into a destination. The order distinguishes ETL from ELT, where transformation follows loading. Neither pattern guarantees clean data; every stage still needs clear rules, error handling and evidence that the intended records arrived.
