Saga
A coordinated sequence of local transactions across services, with recovery actions for steps that have already committed if the wider operation cannot finish. Coordination may be centralized or event-driven. A saga is not one globally isolated database transaction; intermediate states, concurrent work, duplicate messages, and failed compensation need explicit handling.
Also called: Saga pattern
