Break-Even Point

The sales level where revenue covers the costs included in a stated model. In a simple single-product model, fixed costs divided by price minus variable cost gives break-even units. A positive unit contribution is required for that formula; real capacity, mixed products and omitted costs can make the simplified result insufficient.
